Historic Structures Program

The Lenawee Historical Society’s Historic Structures Program offers recognition of historic houses and buildings that meet specific criteria. Qualifying structures are publicly identified with a customized marker that is presented to the owner.

The cost for participation is $495* for a single structure or building and includes a lifetime membership in the Lenawee Historical Society. The cost is $150 for each additional building. 

*The cost for current lifetime members of the Society is $150.

The recognition includes:
A customized historical marker to be displayed on the historic structure or building.

An historic structure report outlining the history of the structure along with appropriate photographs, if available.

A lifetime membership to the Lenawee Historical Society. ($350 value).

Posting of the recognized structures on the Lenawee Historical Society website.

Inclusion in a special exhibit at the Lenawee Historical Museum.

Inclusion in a press release to local news media.

The Society encourages those interested in its Historic Structures Program to include any pertinent historical documentation with their application.
